Activities & Events

DAILY

Each day parents will receive text and photo updates of their child’s progress and daily experiences through the HiMama app.  HiMama is a communication tool designed to bridge the gap between school and home, encouraging an easy way for families and teachers to stay connected in today’s challenging climate.  Posts and updates include a general overview of  class specific information, as well as individual reports about each child, highlighting individual successes and milestones that accompany learning and growing in the preschool years.

WEEKLY

Each week, the children will participate in special activities as part of the Little Hopes, Big Dreams Preschool curriculum.

Focusing on weekly play-based, emergent curriculum themes that are designed to build upon the unique needs, interests, and strengths of each child allows us to foster a life-long love and appreciation for learning.  Children will not only initiate and direct their own play, but they will also participate in a variety of developmentally age appropriate activities individually and in small or large groups.

Special weekly activities include Letter of the Week, Music Class, and Character Education.   By highlighting these learning opportunities each week, we offer children additional exposure and practice in developing language skills, musical appreciation and expression, and social emotional learning.  Not only are these activities fun and engaging for children,  they also provide meaningful opportunities that reinforce learning.

MONTHLY

In addition to thematic units and structured monthly curriculum, holidays and seasonal events offer supplemental learning opportunities that children and teachers can celebrate and enjoy.  Such events include birthday celebrations, fun activities like Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad, seasonal activities (Winter Wonderland, Summer Soiree), and more.  Sharing in momentous occasions together strengthens our community and promotes invaluable experiences that benefit us all.

YEARLY

For young children, some of the most vivid memories are ones that are shared with loved ones, namely parents and siblings.  The start of a school year or the culmination of a preschool experience are huge milestones and achievements to be acknowledged.  Each year, we will host Back-to-School activities and Graduation Ceremonies to celebrate and commemorate new beginnings for our children.
